NEWS RELEASE Date: May 21, 2008 Contact: Dawn Domrose (630) 407-2010 Deputy Sheriff is Illinois Crime Stopper Coordinator of the Year Corporal Daniel Dorpat of the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office was presented with the 2008 Coordinator of the Year Award by the Illinois State Crime Stoppers Association who recently had their 21st annual conference in Quincy, Il. Corporal Dorpat of Aurora, is a 13 year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office, was recognized for his exceptional work and outstanding contributions to the DuPage County Crime Stoppers Program. Cpl. Dorpat has been the coordinator for the DuPage County Crime Stoppers program for the past 3 years, along with his duties in the Community Resource Unit of the Sheriff’s Office. His Crime Stoppers duties are to take care of the daily operations and to receive and disseminate those tips that come in to the proper law enforcement agency for follow up. However, he takes it upon himself to develop background information on the tip to assist in expediting the follow up investigation for a successful conclusion. “Corporal Dorpat has gone above and beyond to make this program successful. I congratulate him on winning this prestigious award,” Sheriff Zaruba said. “I encourage all citizens to continue to use this resource as a method of giving valuable information to the Law Enforcement community.” The Illinois Crime Stoppers Association is a broad-based crime fighting and crime prevention program that seeks to develop Crime Stoppers programs throughout the state of Illinois.
