At approximately 4:05 PM Winfield Police responded to the Winfield Community Bank located at 27W111 Geneva Road for a armed robbery. The suspect is described as a 25 to 35 year old white male 5'8" to 5'10" in height with fake black hair and a fake black gotee wearing an orange or yellow shirt (had something stuffed in it to appear fat), black pants, black shoes and a Chicago Bears baseball type cap. WINFIELD   06/03/2009

At approximately 5:00 AM Winfield Police responded to Walgreen’s, 27w171 Geneva Rd. for an alarm activation.  Upon arrival police observed forced entry to the front sliding doors.  Officers searched the interior for the offender with negative results.  After reviewing security video the offender is observed wearing a dark colored hooded jacket, baseball hat, blue jeans, white shoes.  Offender removed several cartons of cigarettes from behind the register using three white garbage bags. The West Chicago Police Department has seen multiple cases of burglary to motor vehicles in the months of April and May.  These primarily occurred during the overnight hours throughout the downtown residential area (being the area between Washington St. and National St., as well as Arbor Ave. and Rt 59).  The common factors in these cases is that all the vehicles were unlocked and similar items were taken from within (coins, GPS units, window mounts, chargers), all of which were in plain sight.  Anyone with information regarding these incidents should contact the West Chicago Police Department at (630) 293-2222. WEST CHICAGO  04/14/2009

West Chicago police are investigating a robbery that happened at a bakery on the 500 block of Main Street. A man entered the bakery about 9:40 a.m. (Monday) and asked questions about the baked goods before striking the cashier in the head with an empty bottle. The man then ordered the victim to hand over all the money in the register. When the cashier hesitated, the suspect said he had a gun. The victim gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. The man fled and entered a black, newer-model SUV, possibly a Dodge Durango or Chevy Trailblazer. He was last seen driving west on Main Street. The rober was described as a Hispanic, about 24 years old, with black hair worn in a spiky style. He stands about 5 feet 7 inches with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a blue, square stud earring in his left ear, a white "Corona" T-shirt and black pants.
